Do spend a romantic evening on Shikara and Dal Lake. Don’t forget to taste the authentic Kashmiri food which also includes ‘Kaaba’, a herbal tea which is very different from what is available in other parts of India.
If skiing is on your mind, missing out Gulmarg would be a sin. You can also try sledging if you love to slide over snow. Gondola is another attraction of Gulmarg which appeals tourists the most. Carry some heavy winter wears to Gulmarg or you have to rent the jackets and boots, which are although not that hygienic but you wont be left with much options as the temperature is close to freezing point, if you are visiting Gulmarg between December to March.

Is trekking on your mind? Don’t forget to experience Pahalgam’s valley which is a heaven for all active trekkers. Walk around the trail or enjoy the scenic view, it is up to you. Pahalgam is also the starting point of holy Amarnath Yatra.
Jammu can be your base point if you are considering to pay homage at Vaishno Devi and then carry on to Kashmir trip. Travel to Katra from Jammu, trek for 11km and come back to starting point. Rest for overnight and start your road trip to Srinagar that would take nothing less than 12 hours. Patnitop, Udhampur are some of the popular sightseeing points on the way to Srinagar.
