Keep your identification documents with you

Always follow the safety measures mentioned by the local police

Ask your driver, hotel management staff and other local people you are familiar with about to-do and not-to-do things in the city. There are some corners in the city which are not safe as thet are sensitive during communal riots. Remain within city limits and if possible close to popular tourist landmark such as Dal Lake in Srinagar, Golf course in Gulmarg and so on.

Avoid visiting sensitive areas during odd hours

Unlike any other tourist destination, you have to be extra cautious about your timings and whereabouts during odd hours. If you are going for sightseeing, make sure you get back to the hotel on time and take a good nap at night. 😉

Get back to your hotel on time

Utmost 8 o’clock. Make sure you come back to the hotel maximum by 8 in the evening. Have your luscious dinner and take a brisk walk close by. Enjoy the breezy winds and reach back to your hotel safely.
